Stop Police Violence and Genocide in our Community
We call on the Federal Government to stop Police killing and brutality of African and Hispanic Americans in our neighborhoods. The Courts and the Police Officers Bill of Rights protect the Police. Those laws allow them to kill with impunity, especially in Urban Areas. Most of the deaths are White Officers and Young unarmed African American Males. After a shooting, the Policemen are put on Paid Administrative Leave, while the victim is vilified with information from the Police Department. It is unconscionable that in the year 2011 we still seek basic Human Rights!
Why is this important?
The Petition's focus is the Violence and Brutality visited on Hispanic and African American's by Police Officers. In California, the Police are protected by the Police Officers Bill of Rights. There are no rights afforded the victims, most of whom die at the hands of Police Officers. This Petition calls on our elected officials to intervene on behalf of the Murdered victims of Police Actions and those who are at risk of being murdered.
