Require all foods containing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) sold within the State of Maryland to have labels indicating that there are GMOs contained within.
Why is this important?
Foods made from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are everywhere. Studies have shown that these foods can be toxic, causing health problems from food allergies to cancer. Big companies continue to produce these foods because they are inexpensive and withstand the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides. These companies have a powerful lobby organization, and have a multitude of politicians in their back pocket. It is time for the people to make our voice heard! We have the right to know if GMOs are in the foods that we eat, so that we can make informed decisions about our health and wellness, and that of our families.
