To: President Donald Trump, The United States House of Representatives, and The United States Senate
We support our armed forces and veterans
We are petitioning the President of the United States and both houses of Congress to do the following.
Provide the support needed to provide the best possible healthcare for our nation’s veterans. This includes the best trained and best equipped veteran’s hospitals available, with easy access and transportation for our nation’s disabled veterans.
Provide our armed forces in harm’s way with the safest possible equipment to do the job they have been deployed to do.
To not look for every opportunity to cut their wages, benefits, retirement and future employment opportunities. To expand job opportunities for our armed forces when they leave military service by expanding infrastructure in the United States. Our nation’s bridges, highways, and airports need the funds being sent overseas to fuel war on foreign soil. Our troops have served our country and deserve a future. Provide expanded educational opportunities for future veterans.
End the war against our nation’s postal service. The US Postal Service is not broken. Don’t try to fix it. Expand it. Just two short years ago the US Postal Service employed over 235,000 US military veterans. That number is now under 109,000. The finances of the post office are sound, EXCEPT for a law the 2006 Congress put in place to pre fund retiree benefits 75 years in the future at $5.5 billion dollars a year.
Stop the closure of mail processing plants across the USA. Closing these plants will only cost future veterans returning from war jobs. Closing these plants will delay delivery of goods to our soldiers serving our nation abroad.
Mr. President and both houses of Congress, we urge you to commit our armed forces in ways that are responsible and in the interests of our domestic security. When you do commit our troops to armed conflict insure they are best equipped, trained and appreciated armed forces in the world. Nothing less is acceptable, and nothing less is what the voters of this country will accept.

Why is this important?
We support our nations armed forces and veterans. Congress is quick to send our armed forces in harm's way but slow to take care of their needs. They look for every opportunity to cut education, jobs for veterans and their retirement. We demand our elected officials stand up for our active service members and the veterans of this country.
