To: The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate

Wear a headscarf on Jan.20

To all public officials -- Members of Congress, Senators, federal government officials, governors, members of state legislators -- and members of the public:
Discrimination and violence are on the rise, targeting Muslim women, people of color, those in the LGBT community, and others. To show solidarity with those who risk being targeted, please wear a headscarf on Jan. 20, Inauguration Day.

Why is this important?

The 2016 campaign has led to a rise in verbal and physical attacks against people of color, Muslim women, people in the LGBT community and others -- especially children and teens. It's important to react...nonviolently, by publicly demonstrating solidarity and determination.
