Pipe the nutrient filled annual flood waters of the lower Mississippi River to the farms of the midwest and upper deserts instead of making the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico larger. Both regions will prosper. One will produce more food, the other more fish. Both will create more jobs. Pipelines are in place, rights of ways available, wind energy could pump the water and insurance companies would not have to pay out so many claims from destruction.
Why is this important?
Too much water in one place should be sent to where it is needed as an economic engine. Send the annual flood waters of the lower Mississippi River to the midwest for a sustainable bread basket and eliminate the annual fisheries Gulf of Mexico dead zone and property destruction in the South.
