Why is this important?
Saving our United States Postal Service. Benjamin Franklin was appointed first American Postmaster General in 1775; before America was even a nation we had the benefits of a national postal delivery service. The United States Postal Service is the one government agency that touches every American on a daily basis, democracy in action. But saving the USPS is not about nostalgia, it is about the best possible future for Americans and our economy. We ask our Senators to take the advice of Google and other 21st Century entrepreneurs: Keep six day delivery, keep door-to-door delivery, and repeal the pre-funding mandate.
