To: Martha McSally, US Senator (R-AZ)
What Would John McCain Do?
Sen. John McCain was a strong voice for regular business in the US Senate - which today would mean that the Senate would take up a spending bill that could be reconciled with the House bill and sent to the president's desk. As the holder of Sen. McCain's seat, a fellow veteran, we ask you to spearhead a drive for regular business in the Senate and to uphold the Senate's role as a co-equal branch of government.
Why is this important?
The current government shutdown is obscene and we need moral leaders to come forward to end it. We lost one of those moral voices - Sen. John McCain - and I am asking people to join me in pleading with Sen. McSally to take up the mantle of Sen. McCain.
