The taxpayers of the US, regardless of political persuasion, demand to know which representative or senator sponsors any add-on or earmark to any piece of legislation, along with the sponsors purpose behind the add-on. This disclosure should be made before any final votes are taken on the legislation itself.
Why is this important?
As a liberal Democrat, I am just as concerned about the games our politicians play as rabid right-wingers are. The add-ons to the Fiscal Cliff bill and the Sandy Relief bill infuriate me. I believe we should demand to know who the sponsors are for any earmarks to any legislation.
