Let's demand that all pay raises for members of Congress be stopped until our country's ballooning deficit has been fixed. We are too broke to give these "public servants" an unnecessary and unmerited pay raise.
Why is this important?
I, like every working American, have seen a 2% cut in my pay because Congress voted not to extend the payroll tax holiday. However, our politicians in Washington just gave themselves a .5% raise. A member of the House of Representatives makes $174,000. Do the math.
