Why Can't We Grow Something Healthy?

Hemp, unlike Marijuana contains almost no THC, the psychoactive chemical in Marijuana. Hemp has been used for fiber for textiles for several thousand years making a fine fabric that is naturally mold and mildew resistant. The bio-mass from the plants can make an energy efficient diesel fuel. The seeds can be used as food and are high in fiber and very high in essential fatty acids. It can be used to make peper and rope and various other vastly useful products. It is also used in skin care products and makeup.
What has tobacco ever been good for? Except causing cancer, that is.
Groing hemp is also environmentally helpful. It requires no pesticides or herbicides that harm our soil and makes humans and other animals sick. Our tobacco farmers could make far more money growing industrial hemp than they can growing tobacco. Easing tobacco out of the farming economy and getting inudustrial hemp in is a major step towards ending our national addiction to tobacco.
Finally, it is legal for us to import - pay someone else to grow them - the industrial hemp raw matierials and also finished products. But it is illegal for us to grow the hemp ourselves, thus saving us money. Where's the sense in that?
Please make it legal for our people to grow industrial hemp so we can start making money and living healthier.

Why is this important?

Our tobacco farmers are growing something which kills, requires tons of pesticides and herbicides and which causes addiction costing our government billions of dollars for quit-smoking programs.
