To: Environmental Protection Agency

Why is the EPA ignoring millions of US citizens?

Please begin adequately weighing the impact that new and existing toxic sites will have on prisoners. Furthermore, I hope the EPA restarts the EPA Region III's prison initiative and replicates it nationwide.

Why is this important?

There are about 2.4 million people who live in the United States but are effectively ignored by the Environmental Protection Agency. How is this possible? They live in prisons.

It is appalling that our government is exempting millions of people from basic environmental and health safeguards. Prisoners aren't the only ones harmed by this indifference -- prison guards, visitors, and neighbors feel the harmful effects of toxic policies.

Tell the EPA: environmental justice does not stop at the prison gates.
