Regardless of whether the SSA raises rates, we request that the Internet connectivity on the boats be fixed. Do not advertise Wi-Fi access when it doesn’t actually work. Working or communicating via email on the ferry is impossible, and is a necessary component of traveling back and forth from the Vineyard for commuters and people needing to communicate travel plans to people meeting them on the other side.
Why is this important?
Internet connectivity on board the Steamship Authority vessels is sub-par or non-existent. It is virtually impossible to work or communicate while on the water, and that is unacceptable, especially when "Free Wifi" signs are posted on the boats.
