Medicaid costs are overwhelming state and federal governments. Medicaid recipients have poor access to physicians largely because physicians are poorly reimbursed for Medicaid services. The government should stop paying physicians Medicaid fees and instead make the fees they would have received tax deductible. This would be revenue positive for the government and for the physicians and provide Medicaid recipients full access to good medical care.
Why is this important?
Medicaid patients have poor access to doctors.
Doctors are reluctant to care for medicaid patients.
Taxpayers, state and federal governments want to reduce medicaid costs.
