Work here, pay taxes here!

For far too many years people from other states working in California, earning income, many times very high incomes have paid zero in California State Income Taxes.

In more than 26 years working among other contractor employees who reside legally in another state, most popular Texas, Arizona and Louisiana it was a strain knowing these workers were earning incomes as high as $250,000 a year or more and not paying California State Income Taxes. These people have homes and families in other states but themselves work and reside for more than 11 months a year in California themselves only to go home on vacations and holiday weekends. Using their legal home residence in other states they have found a loophole to avoid paying California State Income Tax.

We also need to go after employers who knowingly keep these people on payroll, knowing that they claim non resident to avoid paying California State Income Taxes. And to add insult to a wound they also pay them per diem on many job assignments, at times moving them from on assignment to another to re-start fresh their per diem.

If you live in California legally or illegally and you earn income in Calfornia you need to pay California State Income Taxes. Period.

My friends this far exceeds what illegals from Mexico and other countries are earning. We need to push our state legistlature to act and collect these back taxes.

We MUST go after employers who are a part of this by bringing in out of state employees and paying them wages turning heads to say they are not aware. THEY ARE AWARE. How in the world can an employer hire someone from let's say Texas who gives a Texas address in order to claim per diem and yet stays more than 20 years still claiming residence in Texas.

Work here, pay taxes here!

Why is this important?

For far too many years people have worked in California without paying State Income Taxes who claim to live out of state.

California looses billions in unpaid taxable income.
