Your right to covered chiropractic care

Under the rules of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), chiropractic should be available for any insured Rhode Islander—including those on Medicaid. This petition is for Rhode Island residents to request that Rhode Island Health Commissioner enforce Rhode Island and federal law through the inclusion of chiropractic in ALL Rhode Island insurance policies, eliminate arbitrary limitations on treatment, and stop the “Phantom Benefits” where excessive co-pays are greater than the amount a patient would pay out-of-pocket.

Why is this important?

Hundreds of thousands of Rhode Islanders are being denied the full benefits of necessary chiropractic care due to limitations on the number of office visits and phantom co-pays that are often more expensive than paying out-of-pocket. Medicaid patients have zero coverage for chiropractic. This is a violation of the Affordable Care Act.
