NO PLACE TO PEDDLE HATE

Regarding the Trump Hawker & Peddler garishly set up in our village of North Falmouth, we petitioners request the Select Board reconsider approval of that location as an unwelcome threat to public safety, an impediment to the safe flow of traffic and a disruptive nuisance impacting the peace and quality of life of our community. Located outside our Post Office, residents can't avoid its intentionally provocative display of Blow-up Trump dolls, huge banners and 'Build the Wall' signs. Situated inches away from the sidewalk and roadway (likely illegal), drivers hurl profanities and make obscene gestures as they pass. With the influx of heavy summer traffic, impatient drivers, cars entering and exiting the small plaza onto a narrow stretch of North Falmouth Highway and with a daycare nearby, it has caused numerous unfortunate incidents and become a danger to residents and visitors. It is unfair to our North Falmouth community to have this emotional and psychological burden added to an already stressful time of political and economic upheaval and a deadly pandemic. For the good of our community, we need relief.

Why is this important?

Therefore, we are asking our Select Board to review the seriousness of this situation, reconsider the permit and using Board guidance, seek consultation and the good will of the property owner to re-locate this peddler to a more appropriate site that does not interfere with the safe, normal, daily life of our community.
Thank you, petitioners for "NO PLACE TO PEDDLE HATE"

How it will be delivered

Members of "NO PLACE TO PEDDLE HATE" will present the petition to the Select Board at an upcoming public meeting and ask for their action on our request.
