The age of consent starts at 12 years old according to our federal government. I am petitioning to have it changed to 18 across every state. I am doing this petition to protect children who could be abused under the federal law.
Why is this important?
I believe 12 yr olds are still children and do not have the maturity or education to consent to a sexual encounter.
