Charlotte needs actual Traffic Law Enforcement
The ever increasing number of unenforced traffic violations we all see every day must end now. There is a running joke in our city of how many cars will run a red light at any given intersection (three seems to be the magic number), or the current speed of those brightly colored Dodge Chargers weaving through traffic on 485 (95MPH give or take). How many seconds it takes the car at the green light to realise the light has changed because they're staring at their phone is a fun one, but often the answer is infinite until the honking starts.
Everyday we witness near misses at intersections, pedestrians walking on Do Not Walk signals, distracted drivers weaving in and out of lanes. We, the citizens of Charlotte demand actual enforcement of the basic traffic laws. We demand solutions. We demand police officers who will enforce the laws instead of turning a blind eye or, in some cases, being a part of the problem.
Driving in Charlotte can be frustrating as in any metropolitan area, but the danger posed by reckless drivers is adding fear and anger into the equation. We wish to see the number of traffic accidents drop and demonstrate that Charlotte can be more of an example to society at large.

Why is this important?
This is for everyone involved in a near miss due to people running red lights. This is for people angry and frustrated that their safety isn't a priority on the roads. This is for those who want justice for victims of collisions involving unlicensed and uninsured drivers. This is for those who want accountability and consequences for law breakers.
Above all, this is for our lives.
