Demand CU Boulder Adopts Sanctuary Campus Policies
A sanctuary campus includes:
- A total ban on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers entering campus buildings without a judicial warrant.
- A refusal by campus police to enforce immigration law or cooperate with ICE.
- A guarantee that CU Boulder will not collect or share student or staff immigration status with ICE.
- Tuition support, including in-state tuition rates, for students with DACA status.
- Distance-learning options for deported students to complete their degrees.
- Confidential legal support for students and staff facing immigration-related issues.
- The expansion of sanctuary policies to include all CU Boulder-affiliated facilities, including medical and administrative offices.
- A reduction in campus police presence at protests where undocumented students and staff are organizing, to prevent state intimidation.
- An end to CU Boulder’s labor practices that undermine worker and student worker labor unions.
We demand that CU Boulder adopts these policies to protect our students and staff.
Why is this important?
We base these demands on the understanding that America, Colorado and CU Boulder would not be possible without the tireless commitment, contribution and care of immigrant communities. For this reason, we recognize the need for CU Boulder to adopt the policies of a sanctuary campus.
