Demand DOJ Civil Rights Investigation Into the Death of Nolan Wells
We call on the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division to open an independent federal civil rights investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Nolan Wells case. The public deserves a thorough, impartial review of the available evidence and of the actions of all officials and individuals involved.
We ask the Department of Justice to determine whether Nolan Wells’s constitutional or civil rights were violated, whether any misconduct occurred, and whether federal intervention or further legal action is warranted. The investigation should include a complete review of relevant records, video evidence, witness statements, official reports, communications, and any other material necessary to establish what happened.
This request is not about prejudging the outcome. It is about ensuring that the facts are independently examined, that any wrongdoing is addressed, and that the public can have confidence that the matter received a fair and transparent review.
