Enforce ANIMAL CRUELTY laws in Harrison County, Mississippi
Uphold and enforce the laws and ordinances that define animal cruelty.
On May 20, 2020, in Saucier, Harrison County, Mississippi, USA over 100 animals were rescued from a home that the Sheriff called "Deplorable conditions". The couple involved was charged with 107 counts each of simple animal cruelty under The Harrison County Animal Control Ordinances Section 4 (b) animal cruelty.
Numerous agencies gave testimony over several days of trial. Judge, Brandon Ladner, at the Harrison County listened to the evidence and depsite overwhelming evidence, he ruled on 1 April 2021 "Not Guilty" and further ordered the animals returned to the couple. This ruling goes completely against the laws under Animal control, as well as Harrison County Zoning Ordinances that restrict the number and type of animals allowed in residential areas.
This petition is to stop the return of the animals that the judge ordered returned and hold the couple liable for costs involved.

Why is this important?
As a citizen of Harrison County, myself and the other citizens should not be left holding the debt for two residents of Harrison County that violated the Animal Control Ordinanaces and Zoning Ordinances by having over 108 animals at their residence that is only allowed to have 4 domesticated animals and no livestock or poultry.
