Foreign Interference in Federal Elections

Pass a criminal law to make it a felony for anyone to solicit foreign interference in any Federal election. Interefence would include any action by any person to solicit or procure the donation of funds and the distribution electronically or by print media of information from any source existing outside the territory of the United States to any person within the United States for the purpose of influencing directly or indirectly an election for a Federal office.

Why is this important?

Because the Republicans are arguing in the impeachment proceedings that actions taken by persons outside of the United States to influence Federal elections are not a crime and therefore are not impeachable offenses under the Constitution.
