Lift the ban on entry to the US of Afghans who helped our military during the 20 year war. There are many who were left behind in Afghanistan when our military withdrew. We promised all who helped us that they would be brought to the US for their safety and a better life.
Why is this important?
Reneging on that promise puts our military in danger of never getting help in the future. It is a moral failure for our country. Experience has proved that Afghan refugees resettled in the US quickly become financially independent and pay taxes and there are many experienced, local volunteer resettlement groups throughout the country willing and able to provide support.
