Capital Grant for Assyrian Childcare Center
Dear Senator Villivalam,
I am asking for your support for a critical initiative in our community: The establishment of a new daycare center specifically designed to serve immigrant/refugee and low-income families.
As you know, access to affordable, high-quality childcare is a significant challenge for many families. This is especially true for immigrant/refugee and low-income families, who often face additional barriers such as language difficulties and limited financial resources. Without reliable childcare, parents struggle to work, pursue education, and contribute fully to our community.
We are confident that this daycare center will be a valuable asset to our community. It will not only provide much-needed childcare for working parents, but also create jobs, promote early childhood education, and foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents. We estimate that this will impact (a # of families, kids, residents, etc.) in the 8th Senate District and the surrounding area.
The entire project is estimated to cost $2 million. We have secured $1,750,000 in funding and are asking for a capital grant of $250,000 from the state. This funding will ensure that the community has the funds needed for building the childcare center.
We urge you to consider our request and see the positive impact this childcare center can have on the lives of many families in our community. We are confident that this investment will yield significant returns for years to come.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss this project with you further.

Why is this important?
Assyrians of the Chicagoland area as in many communities are struggling between work and childcare. With this capital grant of $250,000, parents can rest assured that their children will be placed in a safe and beneficial environment while they are at work providing for their families.
