Governor Brown: Will you help us Overturn Citizens United?
It's outrageous that the Supreme Court treats corporations as people and money as speech. Please sign SB 1272 so that California voters can tell Congress loud and clear to pass a constitutional amendment overturning Citizens United.
Why is this important?
The Supreme Court has gutted more than one hundred years of campaign finance laws and given corporations and the rich even more power over our government -- with the outrageous rationale that limiting spending on elections limits speech.
If our democratic system of representative government is to survive, these deeply damaging rulings must be overturned.
