Gudger is a Good Dog!

Gudger is our 11-year-old service dog. He’s been there for sick patients, children with disabilities, and first responders. He passed the Canine Good Citizen Test. He is kind, gentle, and brave — even with shaking legs and a spinal injury.

Now, he’s under attack.

We moved into a building that many neighbors and we believe is being deeply mismanaged. We organized peacefully and legally — and now, it appears the developer-controlled board and FirstService Residential are retaliating.

Their latest target? Gudger.

They just sent a letter threatening to muzzle him at all times and even have him “permanently removed” — based on an incident nearly a month ago where a staff member ran at us suddenly and Gudger instinctively jumped, in spite of his spinal pain, throwing his little body between my wife and the perceived imminent threat. There was a bark.  The man said he had "a scratch" and was totally fine. We even chatted with him after. And then — over 3 weeks later — came the legal threat, not from the man but from the developer-controlled Board, with no advance warning or even a "hey, can we talk?  What happened on this evening?"  Was the staff member coerced into changing his story in fear for his employment?  We don't know.

This isn’t about safety. It’s about retaliation and cruelty. Against a dog. A senior therapy dog.

Please, if you know Gudger, or if you believe in protecting innocent animals from abuse and power games, stand up for him.  Tag the people and entities trying to hurt him:

Say it loud: Gudger should not be muzzled or removed. He is a good dog. A healing dog. A hero dog.  And he deserves to live his senior days in peace — not fear.

If you want to have beef with Gudger's parents, argue and debate with them like mature adults and may the best argument prevail but don't go after people's dogs, families or friends.  That's beyond low.
