TEXAS Hair Salons/One Client at a Time - Soft Opening April 27th

Allow a licensed hairstylist to perform hair services/ privately for ONE CLIENT at a time ONLY in their private salon beginning Monday, April 27, 2020. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the state of Texas and the local Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized & deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community during this difficult time. Servicing one client at a time while wearing a mask & gloves poses little to no risk of spreading the virus, as compared to 50 or more people in a grocery store at any given time. The people of Texas are begging to have their hair professionally maintained, and the State of Texas to make a reasonable determination to allow those needs to be met.

Why is this important?

This is important because people are already suffering from the shut-down. Now they can't get their hair cut or colored, which can be a humiliating proposition for many. Women especially, that are in "essential" businesses themselves, are being forced to go to work with un-kept hair and grown-out color. Furthermore, independent stylists are at risk of losing their small businesses and DESERVE to be allowed to service their fellow community members. If GOLF COURSES and CAR WASHES can be open...???...then independent hair salon owners that can service one client at a time should be too!
