Hold Sakaki Accountable

Sonoma State University President Judy K. Sakaki must be held accountable for her actions regarding sexual assault allegations against her husband Patrick McCallum and the $600,000 settlement paid to the University's prior Provost, Lisa Vollendorf who filed the complaint. President Sakaki should resign from her role as President or be removed from office by the CSU Board of Trustees after she fired Vollendorf and tried to cover it up.

Why is this important?

Students, faculty, community members and other university employees should not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, assault or abuse and neither should the CSU system. President Sakaki has proven to her community that not only does she tolerate sexual harassment but will cover it up to preserve her own image. She would not protect the community in the event of harassment and therefore should not be the President of the Sonoma State. University students, faculty and other employees as well as members of the community do not feel confident in President Sakaki's ability to do her job and protect individuals from Title IX violations. Students and faculty should feel safe on campus and protected by the university and the CSU system.
