Investigate Chuck Gray for Violating Privacy Laws in Wyoming
We, the voters of Wyoming, demand accountability for this breach of trust. Chuck Gray should be investigated, and if appropriate, charged and removed from office for divulging confidential and private voter data.
Why is this important?
Today, Wyoming attorney George Powers, filed a request for investigation and complaint against Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray for releasing confidential voting records to the DOJ. Wyoming state law protects voter information and the US Constitution guarantees to the states the right to manage elections and voting how they see fit.
I encourage everyone to read this complaint. It is well crafted, supported by established legal precedent, and upheld by state statute.
We know very well that if we are to maintain our rights, we must stand up for them at every turn. While we can claim that they are "God-given," it is clear from centuries of experience that humans will attempt to subvert them in search of their own power.
If we lose our right to vote, if they regularly purge voter data every 30 days as the Trump administration has indicated the intent to do, if we lose our voice in this representative government, we lose generations of effort in the fight for equality and freedom.
