JUSTICE FOR LAYLA STEWART MESHAY MELENDEZ AND CURTIS URQUHART

To Whom It May Concern,

We, the undersigned, write to express our grave concern and demand justice in the case of Kirkland Warren, who has committed heinous crimes, including the murders of Layla Stewart, Meshay Melendez, and Curtis Urquhart. These atrocities warrant immediate attention and action to ensure accountability and fair legal proceedings.

Kirkland Warren was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the murders of Meshay Melendez and Layla Stewart. However, justice remains incomplete. Despite clear evidence of his involvement in the brutal murder of Curtis Urquhart—who was shot in the back of the head and whose body was set on fire—Warren received no additional charges or time due to apparent judicial bias. His father’s position as a judge and his release on a $250,000 bond raise serious concerns about the integrity of the legal. Ask that Kirkland Warren be sent back to Arkansas for justice and a fair trial for the family

Why is this important?

This issue is critically important because it highlights the need for true justice and accountability in our legal system. Three lives—Layla Stewart, Meshay Melendez, and Curtis Urquhart—were senselessly taken in acts of violence so brutal and inhumane that they demand a fair and thorough legal response.

The failure to prosecute Kirkland Warren fully for the murder of Curtis Urquhart due to judicial bias undermines public trust in the justice system. It sends a message that connections and privilege can overshadow accountability, leaving victims and their families without closure.

Layla Stewart’s case is especially horrifying, as she was  murdered at 7, her future stolen in the most tragic way. These crimes are not just about the victims but about protecting society from individuals who have demonstrated a complete disregard for human life.

Transferring this case to Arkansas for a fair trial ensures that no one is above the law and that these victims and their families receive the justice they deserve. By addressing this, we reaffirm the importance of an impartial legal system that serves to protect and uphold the rights of all citizens.
