Keep IDY WILD! Hands Off Federal Lands.

Idyllwild looms over Coachella Valley, providing a refuge from the relentless summer heat. It's a year-round, low-cost get-away for families who flock to the town to view the autumn colors, play in the snow during the winter, and marvel at the spring wildflowers along Strawberry and Lily Creek.
The San Jacinto Wilderness comprises 32,248 acres. The adjacent National Monument encompasses about 280,000 acres, including public lands managed by the BLM and the U.S. These designations protect diverse ecosystems, including desert, chaparral, and alpine habitats, and support a variety of wildlife.
Logging or other commercial enterprises will limit, if not deprive Riverside County citizens the opportunity to appreciate and learn about an ecosystem that sustains critical resources and offers unlimited recreational value.

Why is this important?
Like the beaches to the west, the San Jacinto Mountain region offers respite and adventure for tourists, and provides beauty and serenity for local residents.
It is a critical life-sustaining resource for all living creatures. We must protect the forest and desert areas by demanding our political representatives vote against commericial enterprises' access to public lands that belong to the people and inhabitants of the natural environment.
