Matt Cartwright for Congress (Again)
While Rob Bresnahan's 2024 victory was not a fluke by any stretch, I believe he can be beaten in 2026.
Even though Trump won PA-08 by about 9 points, Matt Cartwright outperformed the presidential ticket to close the margin in his race down to 2 points, after regularly winning the district even when Republicans at the top of the ballot carried it; sometimes comfortably.
For example, Cartwright won reelection when Trump was on the ticket in 2016 and 2020, and won during contentious midterm cycles in 2018 and 2022 especially. Matt Cartwright has proven to be a winner over and over again.
I hope he runs for Congress again in 2026 more so because of his values. Cartwright is a proven populist Democrat ready to stand up against the establishment in both parties to support measures like expanding Social Security, strengthening Medicare & Medicaid, honing in on universal healthcare, contesting unfair trade deals, assisting small businesses, supporting the local manufacturing sector, helping out local organic farms, investing in vocational training and trade schools, and cracking down on corporate price gouging.
