NC Governor and Senators: Protect our families by stopping SB 101!

Dear North Carolina Governor and Senators:
I am writing to urge you to stop SB 101, an anti-immigrant bill that seeks to force every duly elected sheriff in North Carolina to honor heretofore voluntary ICE detainers. This legislation doesn't make us safer. Instead, it terrorizes our communities, resulting in increased family separation, racial profiling and the undermining of relationships between immigrant communities and law enforcement.

Le escribo para pedirle rechazar la legislación SB 101, un proyecto de ley antiinmigrante que busca obligar a los alguaciles en Carolina del Norte a verificar el estatus de inmigración de ciertos detenidos para entregarlos a ICE. Esta propuesta de ley no nos hace más seguros. Lo que sí hace es aterrorizar a nuestras comunidades, separar a nuestras familias, aumentar la discriminación racial y afectar las relaciones entre las comunidades de inmigrantes y las fuerzas del orden.
