No Data Center in Blount County
Good day Blount County Planner Doug Hancock, Commissioners John Giles, Jessica Hannah, Jared Anderson, and others concerned,
My name is Abigail Caldwell and I am a long time resident of East Tennessee. Recently it has come to my attention that there are plans in place to build an AI data center in a nearby town, Alcoa. I am writing with the hope that, considering the negative impacts of such data centers on people’s health and happiness, you might help discourage the construction of this AI data center. The centers have been known to disrupt people’s lives via constant noises or “buzzing”, impair hearing, and contaminate and use up drinkable water. Truly I believe this AI center and everything it entails, without being checked, will actively disrupt citizens daily lives by using up enormous amounts of energy, water, and other resources. We need people such as you to be a voice for those suffering these consequences. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Abigail Caldwell
