This petition encourages people concerned about government actions eroding our democracy to write to former Presidents Bush, Clinton, Obama, and Biden, encouraging them to act individually and together to publicly state their support for democracy over party. At a time when core democratic principles are under assault, together we can urge these former presidents to speak out publicly in defense of the Constitution, the rule of law, and the peaceful transfer of power. The hope is that they will influence elected officials—from city council members to senators—who take their cues from national leadership.
