PETITION REGARDING THE PROPOSED SEVEN BREW COFFEE SHOP DEVELOPMENT
We, the undersigned residents and property owners of Southgate and neighboring communities respectfully submit this petition regarding the proposed Seven Brew Coffee Shop development at 15748 Fort Street.
While we support responsible business development in our community, we have serious concerns about the impact this project may have on our neighborhood and city, including:
- Increased traffic congestion and safety concerns
- Noise from drive-thru operations and extended business hours
- Increased litter and light pollution
- Parking overflow into residential streets
- Potential decrease in neighborhood character and quality of life
- Environmental and drainage concerns
- Safety risks for pedestrians, children, and nearby residents
We respectfully request that the Planning Commission reconsider approval of this project, or at minimum require additional review, traffic studies, community hearings, and modifications that better protect the surrounding residential neighborhood.
We ask local officials to prioritize the safety, peace, and well-being of the residents who currently live in this community.
Why is this important?
Another concern is the significant increase in traffic that this business is expected to generate within and around our residential neighborhood. Residents already experience congestion during peak hours, and the addition of a high-volume drive-thru coffee shop could create serious safety and accessibility issues, including:
- Neighborhood streets becoming blocked or heavily congested
- Delays for emergency vehicles attempting to access the area
- Difficulty for residents trying to leave the neighborhood for work, school, and daily activities
- Increased risk of traffic accidents due to long drive-thru lines and excessive vehicle volume
- Safety concerns for pedestrians, bicyclists, and children in the area
- Additional noise and disruption to the surrounding residential community
