Please ACT NOW…Call to Action needed. Help Bring SixFour3 to Fairfax!

I am writing to strongly support opening a SixFour3 facility in Fairfax, a premier fastpitch softball training facility. Over the past six years, similar athletic businesses like baseball and gymnastics have been approved on similarly zoned parcels. Denying this permit would be inconsistent with past decisions and unfairly restrict opportunities for female athletes in our community.

SixFour3 Fairfax is more than a training facility; it is a space where young women can develop confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills. Approving this permit aligns with Fairfax County’s values of fairness and equal opportunity by ensuring female athletes have access to the same high-quality training as their male counterparts.

SixFour3 is only open to its members. It is highly specialized and operates more like a tutoring center where individual members meet their instructors for batting, pitching, and fielding instruction.

Beyond athletics, SixFour3 Fairfax will create jobs, support local businesses, and provide a safe, structured environment for families. I urge the Board to approve this permit and allow SixFour3 to positively impact our community, just as other sports facilities have been allowed to do.

Why is this important?

Thank you for taking time to follow our journey to open a new SixFour3 facility in Fairfax. Over the past year, the SixFour3 Fairfax Team has been working hard …we have leased space, designed what will be an amazing softball training facility (!!), and pursued a building permit to begin construction. Our hopes were to open in early 2025. However, a few short months ago, Fairfax County Staff ruled that we are not allowed to use industrial space for a softball training facility, which came as a shock to us all.

During the last decade, countless baseball facilities and other sports training facilities have been approved by the County in industrial space. Some examples include Perfect Performance in August 2023, Pioneer Baseball in April 2022, Metro Baseball Academy in July 2021, Capstone Soccer in 2020, and Diamond Heroes Baseball in 2017…the list goes on and on. We feel singled out!!

Our next step is a hearing with the Board of Zoning Appeals on May 7th at 9 am to try and overturn the staff's decision. To win the appeal, we need your voices to be heard!! Winning an appeal is no easy task, but we know the softball community will rally around us to help remove the barriers we are facing from the county to open SixFour3 Fairfax.

We believe it is vital to inform Fairfax County about the benefits of SixFour3 and would be grateful for your support in disseminating this information through your broadcasting channels.
