To: Represented members of the Oregon Nurses Association

No Confidence vote in the leadership team of the Oregon Region of Providence Health and Services.

We, the represented members of the Oregon Nurses’ Association (ONA), are calling for a “no confidence” vote in the leadership team of the Oregon Region of Providence Health and Services. Despite our consistent efforts to engage in good faith bargaining over critical issues such as patient safety, equitable pay and reasonable healthcare benefits the Leadership team has failed to address our concerns.

Rather than seeking mutually agreeable terms with ALL represented members of the ONA, the Oregon Leadership team has refused to address our core issues and spread false and misleading information about this strike.  Among the claims, stating that our requests aren't financially viable while at the same time awarding multimillion dollar salaries and bonuses to the executive team.

This vote aims to send a clear message to both the public and Providence’s system-wide leadership: we are frustrated with the ineffective negotiation tactics employed by the Oregon leadership. We no longer believe they can guide us toward a resolution, and we are demanding that Providence’s System leadership take meaningful action to address our concerns and move us toward a fair contract to end this strike.

Our ask is for you is to sign this petition requesting the ONA present a no confidence vote in the Oregon Region Leadership, similar to our TA vote, to all members once we have received 2501 signatures or 50% +1 of our represented members. It is time to let our members decide whether they have confidence in the Oregon Region leadership, both in terms of this contract negotiation and the overall direction of the organization.

Why is this important?

We need to continue to put pressure on this organization to move this contract negotiation forward everyday. While we are standing on the strike lines and standing by to bargain, Providence executives are continuing to delay.
