Relocate the Griswold Street apartment complex entrance

Families, staff and students of Naubuc School and residents in the immediate vicinity are very concerned about safety. 266 apartment units will be built behind the houses across from Naubuc School. Glastonbury's town engineer suggested the entrance and exit to the development should be located directly across from Naubuc school (at the side of St. Marks Church).

Traffic volume in this area is already extremely high, frequently at a standstill. 400-500 more cars going in and out of the apartment complex will make it even worse, especially during peak times when school buses, parents, teachers and staff will also be on Griswold Street at the proposed entrance. Our neighborhood is already deemed so unsafe that our school district does not permit any student to walk, cycle etc., to Naubuc school. Students have to take the bus, sometimes only a few feet home.

Please sign this petition asking Glastonbury's Town Planning and Zoning Board to ensure the entrance and exit for these apartments goes out to Main Street only.

Thank you for your support!

Why is this important?

While development addresses a shortage of housing in our town, it is important this is done with careful consideration respecting the existing neighborhood.

How it will be delivered

In-person at the Town Planning and Zoning Board hearing on January 20th
