Remove Father Pawel Hrebenko and his Church Council

We the parishioners and Polish community belonging to the Holy Name of Jesus Parish, The Polish Saturday School and The Holy Name Athletic Club in Stamford, CT would like to ask for help in REMOVING our Pastor, Fr. Paweł Hrebenko and relocating him elsewhere. According to our observations, all the current actions taken by him, as well as the Parish Council including Boga Davidson in cooperating with him, are leading to the collapse, and, in the future, the closure of the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stamford, Polish Saturday School and The Polish Athletic Club.

Fr. Paweł Hrebenko has been the Parish Pastor since 2012. Since then church attendance has been gradually decreasing. Our long-time parishioners and members are looking for other, more friendly parishes where they can move their whole families. Fr. Hrebenkos work does nothing to reverse this process, in fact he deepens it. This also translates to children's registration for religious classes and Polish Saturday school. Children are obviously the future of our church and community, tradition and language, which has been built over the years by Polish emigrants here in Stamford, not only at the School, but the Church and Polish Club. The Sacraments of Baptism & Marriage are all declining at Holy Name because Fr. Hrebenko will not provide that service to you because of issues he may have towards crying children or adults who want to finalize their marriage, but he doesn’t like how they live their personal lives. The church is to God’s Heart, but for him seems more of a business matter.

Unfortunately, Pastor Fr. Pawel Hrebenko and his council do not show, either through their attitude or the decisions they make, that they can continue to serve our church, nor the entire Polish community around them. We, the members and community of the Polish Parish in Stamford, want and believe that with the help of a new Pastor and new council of our church, we will be able to rebuild and restore our church to its former glory. We need a Pastor who will be HONEST and open to cooperation and communication, to rebuild people's trust and encourage them to return to our church.

We kindly ask you to positively consider our request.

Why is this important?

Please join our campaign to remove Father Hrebenko and his entire Church Council so we can save our Church, our School and our Polish club...Our community. The Bridgeport Diocese is ignoring any wrongdoing which is an embarrassment and Bishop Frank Caggiano has his back and is covering for him. Since all the numerous complaints written about him are not doing any good, we need to make this petition heard and to make it go worldwide! Please sign and pass it on. If you experienced any wrongdoing like refusing communion due to lack of funds on your end, refusal of marriage or anything and were turned away or taken advantage of SPEAK UP! Let's all do this for our Polish community and save what was built by our great, grand ancestors.
