Renounce Israeli Apartheid at UML
Purpose of the petiton:
To address the concerns raised by the University of Massachusetts Lowell's expressed solidarity and support for Israel , several crucial steps need to be taken. First and foremost, the university should actively engage in open and inclusive dialogue with its student body, faculty, and staff to understand the diverse perspectives on this issue and foster an environment of free expression and debate. It is imperative that the university reevaluates its stance on Israeli solidarity and apartheid support, and adopts a more balanced and human rights-centric approach, promoting peace, justice, and respect for the fundamental rights of all individuals, regardless of their nationality or ethnicity. UMass Lowell's unwavering support for Israel has effectively suppressed the Palestinian voice and their fundamental right to freedom, a dangerous stance that not only legitimizes an apartheid regime but also normalizes the violence of occupation, perpetuating the daily struggle for survival endured by Palestinians for the past eight decades. Many Palestinian students attend UML and are directly impacted by the inherent destruction of the colonial occupation that is Israel. We demand Palestinain students to have their voices heard and to be recognized within their own educational community. UML has declared their solidarity with Israel in the face of "Palestinian violence", but fails to recognize that Palestinians live under a daily genocide. Freedom and liberation from an oppressor has never been achieved without resistance. We are calling for an end to institutional hypocrisy when it comes to Palestinian rights and freedoms

Why is this important?
Israeli propaganda is rooted in western media and institutions, and that is made evident through UMLs solidarity with Israel and complete dismissal of the Palestinian experience under apartheid.
