Rep. Denham: Please Cosponsor the New House Immigration Bill
Join the more than 120 House members who have so far co-sponsored the new House immigration bill. Your constituents—and 11 million aspiring Americans—are depending on your leadership!
Why is this important?
House Democrats have broken Speaker John Boehner's deadlock and introduced an immigration bill with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million without papers. So far, over 150 House Democrats have signed on as cosponsors!
But in order to get this bill past the finish line, we're going to need Republican support. The good news is that it's there.
Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Jeff Denham, is one of the 26 House Republicans who support a path to citizenship. His support of this new bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes the first Republican to sign on, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow.
Rep. Denham recently penned an op-ed supportive of the path to citizenship. But according to Politico, when asked about the new House bill, Rep. Denham replied, “It sounds very positive, but I will always wait to see what those details are.”
With a path to citizenship within reach, we need to get Rep. Denham off the fence and onto our side. Rep. Denham needs to put his own words into action and join the more than 150 House cosponsors of this new immigration bill!
We need you and other advocates in your district to call on your representative, Jeff Denham, to support this bill. If we get Rep. Denham on board, your district could make all the difference for the millions without papers across the nation.
The momentum is on our side because enough votes exist in the House to pass reform today. But instead Speaker Boehner hides behind excuses, delays, and flat-out refuses to give us a vote.
We've come too far to stop now. Tell Rep. Denham to stand up for his district by cosponsoring this new immigration bill in the House and passing the path to citizenship for the 11 million!
