Rep. Salmon: Support Families in Your District
Families in your district are being torn apart. Until you and House Republicans take action, the suffering will continue. Co-sponsor the new House immigration bill with a path to citizenship and demand Republican leadership move reform forward now!
Why is this important?
Rep. Matt Salmon, recently said that "reforming our immigration system to address the status of the 11 million people in our country illegally should focus on normalizing their legal status."
While Rep. Salmon’s words are a step forward in the right direction, they just aren't enough to fix our broken system.
First, real immigration reform must have an earned path to citizenship for the 11 million. Second, we’re tired of words. It’s time for House Republicans to act.
Speaker John Boehner and Republican leaders are blocking reform, saying that they won’t hold a vote unless most Republicans in Congress support it.
Congress is supposed to vote on things that have support from the majority of people, not just one party or the other. And right now a majority of Americans support a path to citizenship. We need Republicans like Rep. Salmon to listen to them.
Democrats in the House have just introduced a bill that can get bipartisan support. If Rep. Salmon is truly serious about fixing our broken system, we need him to sign onto that bill and support an earned path to citizenship for the 11 million.
