Residents for Free Beach Access in New Jersey

We are full-time residents of a Jersey Shore Beach Town, and we believe it is unjust that we are required to pay for beach access on top of the taxes we already contribute.

Seasonal tourism brings revenue, but residents support the town year-round. Charging us again to access our own beaches is double-dipping.

We respectfully demand:

  • Free or discounted beach badges for verified year-round residents

  • A review of current badge fee structure

  • Greater transparency around how beach fees are used

Help us send a clear message: Our taxes already cover the sand beneath our feet.

Sign this petition if you believe your town should stop taxing residents twice to enjoy their own beaches.


Why is this important?

We are calling on Local and State officials of New Jersey to provide free seasonal beach access to full-time residents who already pay property taxes and support beach maintenance year-round.
