National Organization for Women of New Jersey has filed a complaint with the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct calling for the immediate removal of Judge James Troiano.

This year, approximately 100,000 healthy and treatable companion animals ending up in animal control depts and shelters in New Mexico will not receive the programming and services they need to have a second chance to find a loving, forever home. Many of these animals will die needlessly despite cost effective, proven alternatives. Not one woman or Latinx person will be in the top elected leadership positions – Mayor, Comptroller, and Public Advocate— in New York City. The absence of a Latinx leader at the table for policy and budget decision-making is not an allowable situation, especially in a city where the Latinx population is 30% and increasing. We, therefore, call on the City Council – which for the first time in history will have a 31-member majority of women– to elect a Latina as Speaker. We ask leaders who value diversity, equity, and inclusion to stand with us, as many of us have stood with you. The Speaker is critical in shaping citywide policy and negotiating the City’s budget. The Council currently has Latinas who are experts in these processes and who represent diverse districts. They stand on the shoulders of a long line of Latina leaders who have advanced New York—from championing public education reforms and running mammoth city and state agencies, to shepherding major multi-service nonprofits and media operations to success. Our footprint, record, and strength are across sectors and institutions—from domestic workers organizing for protections to the highest judiciary of this land, the Supreme Court. The recent coverage of Suri at the grocery store, Suri at the pet store, Suri at the zoo, and Suri being parented is outrageous. Leave celebrities alone. Leave their children alone. When they go about their daily business, be it Alec Baldwin riding his bike or Tom Cruise taking his child on a helicopter ride, we do not want to see news coverage of this. What is fair game? If they take a political stand, feel free to ask them about it. Other than that, please leave them alone, and leave us alone, and cover real news. There is plenty of real news to cover! If on the other hand, you do not mind covering your own background and troubles, your own family business and personal health issues as deeply and offensively as you cover the celebs, then that might be fair. As it is now, it is not fair to them and it is not fair to we viewers.

As a local business, Stewart's Shops has been a valuable part of Troy. We welcome Stewart’s plans for a new store at Tenth and Hoosick and encourage a plan that allows Stewart’s to expand with minimal impact on the surrounding neighborhood. Troy's Hoosick Street Overlay law requires a new Stewart's be in accordance with rules that, according to the law, "preserve and buffer residential neighborhoods surrounding the corridor." Stewart's could achieve this mandate by excavating the sizable vacant land behind the current store and rebuilding on its current site. But Stewart's model for new stores is to keep a current store running while building a new one. This land intensive approach means Stewart's will have an unfortunate impact on a fragile neighborhood block on Tenth St. where the company wants to demolish a house, move another house and locate their new store nearly 100 feet deeper into the neighborhood than the current store. The new store's noisy early morning loading dock would be within just a few feet of a neighbor's house and yard. While the company's desire to maximize income during construction is understandable, the adjacent neighborhood block will unfairly bear the cost of this construction model. Further, the excavation model has been studied by Stewart's and is workable. We respectfully ask that the Zoning Board of Appeals find Stewart's legal "hardship" to be self-imposed and that both the ZBA and Planning Commission ask Stewart's to develop a “good neighbor” plan that harnesses the empty land behind the store and creates less impact on the surrounding neighborhood. A strong message to all elected Superdelegates: We, the American people, are petitioning you, the Superdelegates, to use your votes to help elect Senator Bernie Sanders to the presidency of the United States. Given that Senator Sanders' popularity is growing exponentially and that his ability to raise money is growing with it, we believe that he has the capacity to fund a new political party if such a request is made of him. In February 2016, Senator Sanders easily raised $42 million dollars in campaign donations. By the end of March 2016, his supporters eagerly donated an additional $44 million dollars. Without 'bending' any campaign finance laws, the Senator currently has the ability to generate between $40 and $50 million dollars per month in political contrbutions which adds up to a sum of $2.4 billion dollars every four years. We, his supporters, are extremely disturbed by your stated intention to support the political rival of Senator Sanders for the office of President of the United States. The fact that your support for the opposing candidate was declared so early in the voting process clearly indicates your strong bias against, our candidate, Senator Sanders. After the debacle of the presidential election of the year 2000, Americans will not be denied the power of our vote again. Therefore, we intend to create a political environment conducive to reversing your strong bias and turning it in favor of Senator Sanders.
