Whereas the programs initiated by Chancellor John King and endorsed by Chairwoman Meryl Tisch have damaged morale of our teachers and the academic experience of our children, And whereas Chancellor King and Chairwoman Tisch have refused to modify their actions or even listen to the concerns of parents, teachers, and public school administrations And whereas the people of New York have been powerless to remove this damaging force We the people request that the process for filling the Board of Regents be moved from one of appointment to one of an open election by the people of New York State.

Dear Legislators, We know that New Mexico is faced with deepening drought from average temperature rise and declining precipitation caused by climate change. We also know that this means greater risk of catastrophic wildfires for our state. We want to honor the brave men and women who risk their lives to protect us from the threat of wildfires and who stand at the front lines of climate change by solarizing all Santa Fe County fire stations. Solar installations at our fire stations will reduce the use of coal electricity that is the largest contributor to carbon pollution in the state and is increasing the frequency and severity of wildfires. Solar energy systems will also save money - allowing funds previously used to pay utility bills - to be used for the purchase of fire safety equipment and essential fire station operating needs. Please contribute your discretionary funds to support one of the County's top 5 Infrastructure and Capital Improvement Projects: The Solarization of All Santa Fe County Fire Stations. By deploying solar systems on all Santa Fe County fire stations you will: 1) Stimulate local economic development; 2) Make the needed transition from fossil fuel dependency to renewables; 3) Protect the air, water, and land we love; and 4) Enable all County fire departments to repurpose money previously designated for utility bill payment to fire safety and protection. Now is the time to lead by example! As a resident of Santa Fe County, I am asking that solar installations for the County’s fire stations be included among your capital outlay projects. Please invest at least 25,000 dollars to solarize all of Santa Fe County’s fire stations; Santa Fe has the potential to be a clean energy leader – let’s actualize that potential.

We now know that appointees in the administration of Gov. Chris Christie, of NJ, wrote memos leading to lane closures at the George Washington Bridge, in Ft. Lee, NJ. We need to know the extent to which Gov. Christie was involved in this action.

Please ask New Jersey legislators to vote YES on S. 1921 when it comes up for a veto override vote. The bill would ban the use of cruel pig gestation crates in New Jersey.

The Affordable Care Act has been gradually improving the health insurance market since 2010, but too many news outlets are letting a faulty website cast shame on comprehensive health care reform. Please give coverage of the ACA that's truly fair and balanced.

Support geriatric parole release for eligible inmates in New York who are at least sixty years of age and, following appropriate risk assessment, have served at least one-half of the minimum term of their sentence, excluding, however, any inmate serving a sentence for murder in the first degree, sex offenses, child pornography, or an act of terrorism.

We the undersigned strongly support legislation A9397/S6464 which regulates step therapy & first fail insurance policies, requiring insurers to provide prescribing health professionals with a clear and convenient process to override such restrictions and ensures the health and safety of consumers. Establishing step therapy/first fail policies requiring that the least expensive drug in any class be prescribed to a patient first has dire implications as well as dangerous consequences for consumers and our health care system. Delaying patient access to medicines denies care. Patients and their providers need open access to all medications in order to maintain consistent disease management. Disrupting continuity of care can result in detrimental life threatening consequences to the individuals who are the most vulnerable and can actually lead to increased symptoms, more medical complications, and higher health care costs. The determination of appropriate medical treatment is best accomplished by open and transparent communication between the health care provider and patient. It is imperative that we protect consumers and preserve physicians’ rights to make treatment decisions in the best interest of their patients and ask for your support of A9397/S6464 and its passage into law.

We, the undersigned residents of New Jersey, believe the rights protected by the U.S. Constitution are the rights of natural born persons, that corporations are not entitled to these rights, and that therefore the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision must be overturned by a constitutional amendment as supported by our New Jersey legislature through the passage of two resolutions during the upcoming session.
