The Funding CA Schools Campaign will require special interest groups to match every dollar they spend on political campaigns or lobbying to the CA school system of their choice. For example, if X Lobby firms spends $10,000 on Jane's political campaign, then X Lobby firms must donate the same amount of money to a school district or a school system. If the money is donated to higher education system, then the allocation must only be used for student tuition.

Civil Unions, while not giving all the rights granted to married couples, can give some rights to homosexual couples and would help us be that much closer to equality in Colorado.

The EPA does not test E-10 (now E-15) for its actual MPG: President Bush Sr. gave Ethanol testing a waiver through the EPA. Big Oil and Big Agriculture have put Ethanol into our gas supply, first without telling us (the waiver allowed up to 5% secretly) and later as E-10 and now E-15. Ethanol always contains a small amount of water. This <1% water, once in your gas, causes ethanol to separate - not completely but into "clumps". These Ethanol clumps burn easily but at lower temperature, delaying the gas molecule burn. That causes your real gas to burn too late, wasting 20% of its push power. The result: your mileage is down, since 1990, by about 15%. Inefficient E-10 and E-15 mileage costs the USA about $100 B in foreign oil imports directly, and another $100 B indirectly, for example by pushing gas refinery usage to its limits and thus allowing sudden "scarcity pricing increases" in gas, corn, milk, etc. We must allow the EPA to scientifically test real E-10 and E-15 gas mileage and report it to the public. Stop this blatant theft by the Big Oil, Big Agriculture, and the Big Banks the ultimately benefit the most - because that foreign oil is bought on borrowed money! President Obama! Cancel the Ethanol waiver! Let the EPA test Ethanol E-15 and at least see who is telling the truth!

On March 15, the Paradise Valley Unified School District board fired Cynthia Davis, the beloved principal of Paradise Valley High School, SIMPLY BECAUSE SHE IS A GAY WOMAN. Principals and District Staff: We call on you to denounce this action and to advise the school board to undertake the actions cited in this petition. Members of the School Board: We call on you to: A) Apologize to Principal Davis for handling the matter in this manner; B) Reverse your decision to fire Principal Davis and re-hire her; C) Apologize to the entire LGBTQ community in PVUSD and to the alumni, teachers, students, parents, staff, and other friends affiliated with the district who have been affected by this; and D) Present a plan to advance diversity goals for LGBTQ people affiliated with the district, addressing students, staff, and other constituency groups. Discrimination against LGBTQ people is unacceptable in our city and especially in our city’s school districts. Please take swift action on this issue to heal the wounds that have already been inflicted.

Most people know Social Security makes payments to retirees. But it also makes payments to children under the age of 18 if their parent passes away. Social Security also imposes what is called an "earnings limit" on * recipients under full retirement age (69.5 years) including minors, because they assume Social Security benefits replace your working income, and so if you have working income, Social Security isn't needed. In the case of minors with a deceased parent, the Social Security payment received by the child is from payments made by his parent, and is paid on behalf of that parent in their absence. (Unlike early retirees, the Social Security payment was never intended to replace the recipient's income, where an earnings limit makes more sense.) In all 50 states it is illegal for a parent to withhold support to a minor child - it is considered neglect. Yet Social Security is allowed to do exactly that even though they are acting in place of the parent. Therefore Social Security Survivor recipients under the age of 18 are not being given the same protections under the law as other minors. This is a violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which requires equal treatment under the law. The earnings limit on minors receiving Social Security is therefore unconstitutional, and yet the law exists. The earnings limit law must be amended to give justice to orphans. Please sign!

Both of those were states Secretary Clinton lost by less than the amount of missing votes. In both states, especially in WI, they may affect the down ticket races as well.
