All families and communities deserve access to clean water, no matter where they live, how much they earn, or what color their skin. We call on you to do the following: 1) Replace all public water infrastructure at no cost to residents or businesses. 2) Refund all water bills since the switch to the Flint River water supply. Create a fund to repair property damage caused by toxic water. 3) Launch an independent state and federal investigation into what happened in Flint. Lift executive immunity from the Governor’s office and release all communications. 4) Create a Flint Citizen Civilian Core to train workers to repair infrastructure. 5) Create a holistic medical care facility in Flint to offer therapies and other methods to treat lead poisoning.

It’s been 5 years since Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricanes Maria and Irma. Families were displaced, abandoned, left without power and water, and thousands died from neglect from those in power. In the following years, the Trump Administration and U.S. fiscal control board pressured the Puerto Rican government to privatize the island’s energy grid to LUMA Energy, a US-Canadian consortium that has failed the people of Puerto Rico almost every single day, forcing families to experience power blackout after blackout. And after Hurricane Fiona landed in Puerto Rico, the privatized system completely collapsed, leaving 100% of the island (including hospitals) with no power and leaving thousands without access to water. This is absolutely unacceptable. Governor Pierluisi can and MUST cancel the LUMA contract before November 30!

Listen up Calhoun County, Iowa! Our Board of Supervisors are not acting in our best interest. In Twin Lakes, they plan to file a lawsuit to seize the shoreline of 31 residents' shorefronts for public access. Homeowners can show proof dating back to 1855 that they have ownership. After 5 years of trying to compromise and communicate directly with the Board of Supervisors with no avail, it is time we take action! They have utilized over $67K of taxpayer money to hire lawyers to claim that our land that we purchased isn't our land, and they are still going and hired a third attorney! These funds could be crucial in improving Calhoun County parks and roads. JOIN US in demanding a public meeting to discuss their intentions, the use of our tax dollars, and to stop the harassment of Twin Lakes landowners!

That is why Puerto Rico needs and should receive statehood, if for no other reason than to have a say in how they are treated. Representative Lauren Boebert (R, CO-3) must be held accountable for her vile, anti-Muslim hate speech directed at Representative Ilhan Omar (D, MN-5). We must show solidarity with Rep. Omar, her staff, and everyone who is endangered by this irresponsible, bigoted rhetoric. There must be consequences for Rep. Boebert’s words and actions. We ask all representatives to support removing Rep. Boebert from her committee assignments by co-sponsoring H. Res. 845, and we request that Speaker Pelosi bring it up for a vote immediately. Each day that passes without meaningful accountability, we risk normalizing this behavior and endangering the lives of our Muslim colleagues, Muslim staff, and every Muslim who calls this country home.

The Greater Chaco region of New Mexico is home to Chaco Canyon, extensive Ancestral Pueblo ruins, and Navajo communities. These public lands are considered the cultural heart of the American Southwest and are under attack. Despite years of public protest, on December 5 and 6, 2018, the Bureau of Land Management held an oil and gas lease sale of land parcels across the Greater Chaco Landscape to the highest bidder. These leases and fracking developments threaten the area’s rich cultural resources, treasured landscapes, and living Native communities, and must be stopped. Bureau of Land Management, please stop the exploitation of this irreplaceable cultural landscape and implement safeguards to protect the culture and communities across the Greater Chaco Landscape, the heart of which lies in Chaco Culture National Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Congress decided this week to take 5 weeks vacation for themselves. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't even afford a long weekend off. These Gentleman and Ladies who were voted in by hard working America to represent us are playing games with our lives and most of all with our finances. It is our money that pays them and allows them to take these long breaks. It is now time to return the favor of their concern for us and fire them in November. Lets show them that it is not money from the wealthy that makes them a politician, its the votes from the middle class and poor. Let them spend their billions on campaigns and let them believe they make a difference and that they are going to win and on Election Day, surprise them, like they surprise us, VOTE THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is apparent that a majority of the elected members of the United States Congress do not have the political courage or political will to enact meaningful legislation to deal with the epidemic of gun violence facing our nation. Accordingly, under Article V of the United States Constitution, we the citizens of the United States demand that the Legislatures of two-thirds of our States apply to the Congress to call a Constitutional Convention to adopt the Amendment to the United States Constitution set forth below. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution is amended by adding the following at the end thereof: 1. For purposes of this Amendment, “arms” are defined as weapons that are activated by a trigger mechanism. 2. An arm that has a trigger mechanism that is continually activated without releasing and re-pulling the trigger and/or an arm that will shoot more than ten (10) times sequentially without re-loading ammunition may be owned and/or used only by Federal and State militia; Federal, State and Local Government Law Enforcement agencies; and the original manufacturer of the arm prior to its original sale. All such arms that are owned by individuals or other entities must be delivered to a representative of the Federal Government within ninety (90) days of the enactment of this Amendment. Thereafter, any such arms shall be confiscated by representatives of the Federal Government and the owner of such arm prosecuted for a felony punishable by a fine of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) and imprisonment for two (2) years. It is illegal to sell such arms to anyone that is not allowed to own such arms, and any violation shall be prosecuted for a felony punishable by a fine of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) and imprisonment for ten (10) years. It is illegal for any person or entity prohibited from owning such an arm to convert the arm’s trigger mechanism to continually activate without releasing and re-pulling the trigger and/or enabling the arm to shoot more than ten (10) times sequentially without re-loading ammunition, and any violation shall be prosecuted for a felony punishable by a fine of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) and imprisonment for five (5) years for each such arm so converted. 3. All arms with the boundary of the United States of America shall be registered with an agency of the Federal Government within ninety (90) days of the adoption of this Amendment. That agency shall maintain a data base of all such arms with a registration number assigned to that arm. The data base shall include the arm’s serial number placed on it by the manufacturer, the owner’s name, address and social security number or any successor number used for identifying persons. The owner of the arm shall provide current registration information as any of it changes, and the owners shall maintain possession of the registration for that arm. Any violation of this provision shall be prosecuted as a felony punishable by a fine of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) and imprisonment or five (5) years for each arm not so registered. 4. The agency of the Federal Government that maintains the registration information as described in 3 above shall also maintain a data base of all persons who are not allowed to own arms. Arms may not be owned or made available for use by any of the following persons: a. Those persons convicted of a felony by a Federal or State Court; b. Those persons listed by any agency of the Federal Government as belonging to a group whose goal is to attack persons or property within the United states of America and/or individuals not allowed to fly on aircraft by an agency of the Federal Government; and c. Those persons who suffer mental impairment that places society at risk of an attack by that person. Mental impairment shall be determined by two (2) mental health physicians, and they shall provide the names of such persons to the Federal agency maintaining gun registration. Any violation of this provision by a person prohibited from owning an arm or by a person who sells or gives such a person an arm shall be prosecuted as a felony punishable by a fine of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) and imprisonment for five (5) years for each violation. 5. Prior to the sale of an arm to any person in the United States of America, the name, address and social security number or any successor number used for identifying persons must be sent to the Federal Agency that maintains the list of persons not allowed to own an arm. Only after the Federal Agency notifies the seller that the person is not prohibited form owning an arm may the arm be sold to that person. That person must register the arm with the Federal Agency maintaining the arm registration at the timer of the purchase of the arm. Any violation shall be prosecuted as a felony punishable by a fine of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) and imprisonment for five (5) years for each sale in violation of this provision. 6. All arm...
