The SAFE Act is an infringement upon the Constitutionally protected civil liberties of New Yorkers, and should be repealed immediately.

We urge the NY State legislature to stop the $240 million in cuts proposed for the NY state budget by Governor Cuomo's budget and urge the Governor to withdraw these cuts which will deny basic services to vulnerable New Yorkers.

The only crisis facing our state and country is the lack of well-paying jobs. It is way passed time we stopped focusing on the deficit, which is going down, and the debt, and realized that if more Americans were able to work, the deficit would be almost eradicated. Hurricane Sandy, our crumbling bridges, and antiquated roads shows how much is needed more to be done for infrastructure. Our poor showing in global education models shows how much we need to improve our educational system. The fact that even those who work need to rely on the government's safety net shows how important it is to raise the minimum wage. More people working, more people off the safety net, more young people able to advance is the best way to help America and solve fiscal problems. It's not cuts; it's stimulus. Anyone, who thinks otherwise, is a liar and a fool. At this time in our history, we don't need liars and fools.
