The Washington Post just reported that the U.S. Forest Service could issue a plan as early as next month that could allow fracking in the George Washington National Forest. Washington, D.C.'s drinking water comes from that forest's watersheds, so fracking there could put D.C.'s drinking water at serious risk, according to a report by Environment America. The article says, "Called 'Fracking by the Numbers,' the study looks at the impact of fracking on a national basis, concluding that more than 360,000 U.S. acres have been damaged by fracking since 2005." It's a moral imperative to protect our drinking water, so I'm asking you: Will you oppose fracking in the George Washington National Forest?

The murder of George Floyd by police officer Derek Chauvin, which sparked nationwide protests and civil unrest, continues to be a stain on our country’s history. George's daughter, Gianna, is now growing up without her father. His family, loved ones, and community continue to grieve their loss every day.  But to hack comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, George's murder is a joke. Literally.  Hinchcliffe and a team of predominately white comedians are facing backlash for a racist and cruel joke made during “The Roast of Kevin Hart,” which aired on Netflix as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Festival.  Hinchcliffe has a history of racist material that isn’t funny, reinforces stereotypes, and now trivializes violence against people of color. Netflix and Kevin Hart decided to platform him anyway.  We’re not laughing. And we demand more than an apology. We demand reparations. Add your name to the petition to urge Netflix and Hartbeat to contribute profits from “The Roast of Kevin Hart” to the Floyd Family Center for Social Equity.

To put away George Zimmerman, a man who has a history of violence and who killed Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin. Also to protect private citizens from gun violence and inept law enforcement.

George Zimmerman is free and Marissa Alexander (mother of 3) got 20 years in Florida for shooting a gun in the air and no one got hurt. She was "standing her ground".

There is NO WAY IN CREATION that I will again vote for President Obama or any other “Democrat” as disinterested as Obama in restoring America’s (pre-George Bush) economic, moral, and legal traditions.

Require all cops across the United States to wear body cameras.

Stop traumatizing our Seattle families! Prohibit the use of suspension and expulsion as disciplinary actions in Seattle public elementary schools. Use a restorative justice model to address conflict in schools and respond to the needs and issues of students, parents, teachers and school personnel.

Stop the practice of building unneeded prisons asked for by profit seeking private investors.
